South Africa on a role against Bangladesh

Bangladesh test captain Mushfiqur Rahim chose to bowl against South Africa in the first Test at Senwes Park. The choice amazed home skipper Faf du Plessis, who felt the pitch was dry like a "one-day" pitch.

Aiden Markram and Andile Phehlukwayo, who supplanted Heino Kuhn and Theunis de Bruyn, were making their Test debuts. They were additionally the main two changes toward the South African XI that last played in England.
